
Water Bottle Cozy (Crochet)
Materials: Worsted Weight Cotton yarn (approx 100 grams)
Size 4 mm crochet hook
Elastic band or 1/4" elastic the right size to go around the neck of the
bottle
Special Pattern Stitches Used:
Front Post Double Crochet (FPdc):
YO, insert hook from front
to back to front around post of st indicated,draw up lp to height of working
row; {YO and draw through 2 lps on hook}twice—FPdc
made.
Back Post Double Crochet (BPdc): YO, insert hook from back to front to back around post of st
indicated, draw up lp to height of working row; {YO and draw through 2 lps on
hook}twice—FPdc made.

Ch 5, sl st to form
ring.
Rnd 1: ch2, 12 hdc in ring, sl st to 2nd ch of beginning
ch-2.
Rnd 2: ch2, hdc in same st, * hdc in next st, 2 hdc in next
st; repeat from * around, ending with 2 hdc. Sl st in 2nd ch of beginning ch-2
(20 hdc)
Rnd 3: ch1, * sc in each of the next 3 sts, 2 sc in each of the next 2 sts; repeat from * around, ending with a sc in each of the last 3 sts, sl st to first sc. (24 sc)
Rnd 4: ch2, hdc in same st, * hdc in next 2 sts, 2 hdc in next st; repeat from * around, ending with a hdc in each of the last 2 sts. Sl st in 2nd ch of beginning ch-2. (32 hdc)
Rnd 5: ch1, sc in same st, 2 sc in next st, * sc in next 3 sts, 2 sc in next 2 sts; repeat from * around, ending with a sc in each of last 4 sts. Sl st to ch-1. (42 sc)
Rnd 6: ch 3, using back loops only, dc in each hdc around, sl st to top of beginning ch-3, (42 dc)
Rnd 7: ch 2, FPdc in each dc around, join with sl st to
top of FPdc.
Repeat Rnd 7, 17 - 21 times or until desired height.
Next Rnd: ch 1, (holding elastic on inside of work), sc in each st, bringing loops around elastic to encase it in the round, sl st into beginning ch-1. (do not break yarn if working handle)
Handle (optional): With right side facing, dc in next 4 sts, ch 1 and
turn.
Row 1: FPdc across each st, ch 1 and
turn.
Row 2: BPdc across each st, ch 1 and
turn.
Repeat Rnds
1&2 until desired length, cut yarn and sew handle in
place.
